Welcome

We are a diverse Catholic Community of Greenfield which shares a faith in Jesus Christ, is nourished at the table of the Eucharist, celebrates life-giving and healing Sacraments, tries to live the beatitudes, and reaches out in service, together. Please enjoy our site and join us, in person, on our faith journey.

We welcome you, the traveler, the visitor, our faithful parishioner and you who have been away from the practice of our faith.

Greenfield Chesterton Group

G. K. Chesterton
G. K. Chesterton

Third Tuesday of each Month

The Chesterton Group meets from 6:30 - 8:00pm on the third Tuesday of the month at the Holy Trinity Rectory, 133 Main Street in Greenfield MA.

A typical evening begins with a prayer followed by a call for a G.K. Chesterton quote (don't worry if you haven't had time find a quote, you can find some really good one's on the Quotations page of the American Chesterton Society). The conversation thene lunches off the quote. Only rules are, no dominating the discution and the conversation must 'organically' flow from one topic to another. No leap-frogging. When the conversation begins to flag, the moderate will call for another quote and off we go again.

We've also been known to discuss the writings of Chesterton's close friend and collaborator Hilaire Belloc, as well as C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien and anyone else the participants happen to be reading at the time.

There's no commitment to attend every meeting, come whenever your schedule allows. Be prepared for a lively evening of free flowing conversation ranging over literature, theology, science, politics and, oh yes, the thoughts and writings of the Apostle of Common Sense, G.K. Chesterton. All are welcome to attend. For more info or to get on our "remember there's a Chesterton Group meeting this week" email list contact Fr Doug McGonagle.
